My name is Jill.  I’ve been married for over 7 years to the love of my life, Jason .  We have a 4 year old daughter, Ella, who is a ball of energy and we welcomed our son in July of 2013.  We were given a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome for baby David in February of 2013 and we are navigating our new reality.  I’m a therapist and my husband is a high school teacher.  On paper, we are the ‘perfect’ parents to receive this diagnosis.  We are still learning what that means.

  1. Jill, just read your blog for the first time. Thanks for being so vulnerable. I know you love David and will ALWAYS love him. I want you to know I will continue to pray for you. Keep looking to our Lord and Savior and He will direct your paths. I love you!

  2. Hi Jill. I stumbled onto your blog this morning. My name is Robin. My daughter Ashley and her husband Anthony have been married for 6 years. They have a three year old daughter, Sofie. In July Ashley gave birth to our precious baby boy Jack Phillip. After not breathing on his own, and being bagged for four minutes, before taking his first breathe, we got the news that he had markers for DS. We are so thankful that our baby boy took that first breath. Like you, we are trying to take this all in and become advocates for Jack and for DS awareness. Thank you for doing this blog. David and your family are an inspiration to me and I can’t wait to share this with my daughter.

  3. Hi Jill, We heard about your Mighty Son of God, David, and we know that God has already slayed his giant so He can use David in an amazing way! God’s Word says in Isaiah 53:5 and 2 Peter 2:24 that by Jesus stripes we are healed. Following is a link of several families that stood on this Word over the Dr.’s and were able to overcome their giants. It is awmi.net/extra/healing. There is a Healing School every Thursday at 1 p.m. open to the public at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park if you would like to check it out. We pray that you will believe in God and His ability to heal David to a full recovery and the “above and beyond” life that He has for him! We look forward to much Good News about your Big Strong Boy! – Randy & Ronna Mason
